For many churches, Easter service is the busiest time of year. If you are offering several services throughout the weekend, recommend to your "Regulars" that they attend the early morning or late evening service, or whichever have been historically less crowded. Besides easing overcrowding this can make for a more pleasant experience for less regular members or for visitors attending for the first time.
Helping visitors feel even more welcomed and a part of your church can make a big difference their deciding to return for a non-holiday service. Following up can happen the same day, too, by having a special reception for visitors after the service. If time does not permit for a special service, be sure to have collateral for visitors to learn more about your church and its offerings. Easily make the church phone number, website, email address, and SMS keyword visible on screens, bulletins and signage.
We are always thankful for the time volunteers and staff put into our churches. But we are especially thankful for the extra time, effort and commitments that are required to make an Easter service a success . Offer your thanks after a special program, event or service and allow those in attendance to participate in thanking them as well. Often times, their involvement might take them away from their family during special events. Look to schedule a volunteer and staff only Easter egg hunt so they can be with their families, too. Staff and volunteers are selfless and do not necessarily expect praise, but showing true appreciation goes a long way for them and their families.
