You can slow down the call speed by going to My Account–>Update under Preferences.

Then, you can adjust your call speed as needed!

Ever getting annoying text messages claiming you’ve won a $100 Giftcard? We do too, and we hate text spam just as much as you do. Really.

Here are some tips to make sure you don’t receive those pesky texts anymore:

1. You can change your preferences of message sources that are allowed to be sent to your phone with your carrier. Short codes (like Call-Em-All’s 292929) have rules that must be followed, including honoring STOP, CANCEL, and QUIT. Every short code must be tested and approved before it is allowed to send messages. Long codes (10-digit numbers, e-mail addresses, etc) do not have such administration.

If you’re an AT&T customer, you can manage your preferences at this site. Verizon customers, you can also manage these preferences then go to the Spam Blocking tab.

<img class="wp-image-1524 alignright" style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial; float: right; padding: 6px; title="text spam 1" src="http://blog.call-em-all.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/text-spam-1.png" alt="text spam 1 5 Tips to Stop Text Message Spam" width="228" height="318" />

2. If a specific 10-digit phone number continues to spam your cell phone, you can contact your carrier to block a certain number. (If you use AT&T, you can do so here.)

3. According to the New York Times, replying to the message, even with words like Stop, Cancel, or Quit, may verify to the spammers that you have a working number that can be resold.

4. Therefore, the best tactic to prevent SMS spam is to not reply to the message and forward the message to 7726 (SPAM) to notify your carrier so they can investigate.

5. If you have a smartphone, there may be apps you can download to prevent spam. For Androids, we hear that the Anti SMS Spam & Text Filter is a useful app.

Do you have any tips for avoiding spam texts? Comment below and let us know!

You can read more information on preventing spam on AT&T’s website.

From graphics to clothes to party designs, Pinterest is a great way to connect with what your friends and contacts currently like.

I (Elise) have been seeing several different companies and individuals create some awesome graphics with some of their favorite quotes. I figured I would give it a try! That way, we could also use them as backgrounds and such. I have even printed out a few and put them on my desk and in picture frames!

Without further ado:

You’ll want to make sure you’re calling 866-623-7525, and you’ll enter in your User ID and PIN that you use to log into the website.

Instead of pressing 1 to send to everyone, you’ll press 2 to send it to a specific group. Then, you’ll enter in the List ID number of the group.

You’ll need to know the List ID of the group that you’ll be calling ahead of time. You can find this in your Contact list by dragging your mouse over the group name.

You’ll see it above the list of names & numbers as well:

Then, record your message, and press 1 to accept it!

Yesterday was a crazy day as many of us hunkered down in our kitchen here at the office during the severe weather. We are blessed that our building and homes were unaffected, but there were many others in our community that weren’t as fortunate.

If you’re wondering how you can contribute to those affected by recent events, the most effective is donating to the Red Cross of North Texas. You can visit www.redcross.org to donate online, or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by recent tornadoes.

A lot of our customers ask why people need to opt-in to the Call-Em-All short code 292929 to receive automated text messages. Many don’t realize that cell phone carriers require the cell phone owner to initiate mass text message communication to avoid text message spam. We dislike spam as much as you do!

A recent article on CNN.com states that “when you receive a spam text message on your phone, forward that text to the short code 7726 (which spells “SPAM”). You’ll then receive an automated message from your wireless carrier, asking you then to enter the phone number from which the spam text was sent.”

Occasionally, we find that people are confused by the terms “Group Size” and “Unique Count.” If you’re signing up for an account or monitoring your account, these explanations may be helpful.

Group Size: A group size is the maximum count of phone numbers you are allowed to contact in one month.

Unique Count: The unique count is just that. It counts how many individual, ten digit phone numbers your account has sent messages to at that point in the month.

For instance, if you are on the 25 group size and contacted 25 numbers on the 1st day of the month, your unique count has reached your maximum group size. If you were to add or change numbers in your contact list, your unique count would increase beyond your group size.

If your unique count exceeds your group size, you can wait until the unique count resets at your renewal date or purchase the next level of service.

Typical User Profile: Organizations, clubs, and churches sending weekly reminders to a regular list of phone numbers tend to get the most benefit from the Monthly plan.

Alternative Option (Tip): If your contact list changes frequently, the Pay-As-You-Go plan may be your best option.

Recently our President Brad gave one of our engineers, Seth, and me (Elise) a challenge: make over our About Us page. There was one catch to it; we had a 24-hour period to devote all of our efforts to designing and creating these new pages.

It’s been a while since it’s been updated, and our company has grown significantly within recent years. We not only wanted to depict our commitment to giving you the best automated messaging and service on the Internet, but we also wanted to show Call-Em-All’s innovative, professional, and fun company culture.

We decided to create two pages: an updated “About Us“ page along with a new “Meet the Team“ page.

If you’ve visited our Facebook page or our Twitter feed, you’ve probably had the chance to see a little more about the Call-Em-All family…and maybe a few of our office pranks!

After a late night of coding and gathering content, we presented the new pages to the company then published them on the website. Here are the new pages:

We’ll be adding more interactive features to our About Us and Meet the Team pages- check back soon for updates.

We want to get to know you, too! Comment here and tell us a little bit about yourself!
