Mission Briefing

Accepting the Mission

There are three tasks to complete the primary mission objectives

Mission Resources

Your competition is going to be using the best tools available, so you should too! Fitocracy is where you need to start. Make sure all your mission activities are logged. If you get into a situation where your competition is right on your heels, be sure to keep track of your quick footed getaway with RunKeeper. Every mile matters. Best part, RunKeeper will help you make sure that your workout fog doesn’t keep you from entering your mileage as it imports directly into Fitocracy.

Mission Recon

Just a heads up, Call-Em-All is doing this as an effort to not only get fit but to also help out the local charity Frisco Family Services. We’ve assigned goals as a company to meet which will trigger monetary donations to Frisco Family Services. That alone is sure to cause us to work harder. You’ll need to make sure that you don’t slack to keep up. Be sure to keep track of all our progress on the Fitocracy Leaderboard. Us this data to help you stay motivated and get ahead of your competition. Good luck! And have fun!!!

Billing Cycle Change for Monthly Plans

0
Filed under Announcements, Customers & Call-Em-All

Today we made a change to renewal dates for our monthly accounts, and we’d like to explain the change, who it affects, and our motivation for making the change.

Summary of the New Billing Cycle

Old Method

  • When a new user signed up, we prorated the monthly fee for the remainder of the current month.  Then, they were charged the full monthly amount on the 1st of every month.
  • When a user increased their level, we prorated the increase in the monthly fee for the remainder of the current month.  Then, they were charged the full amount of the new level on the 1st of the next month.

New Method

  • New users are charged the full monthly amount at signup, and their account will be renewed exactly one month later.
  • When a user increases their level, they pay for a full month at the new level less a credit for the remaining days at the previous level.

Examples

Jennifer needs to call everyone at her church for updates about upcoming events. She chooses the 50-100 group for $35 per month. She buys it on November 27th. Her monthly plan will automatically renew on the 27th of every month going forward.

Vanessa’s congregation grows and she needs to be able to call 150 numbers. She upgrades on December 14th to the 101-200 group size. She will be charged $39.83 ($55 less a credit for unused days at the previous level) for the first month at the 200 group size and $55 each additional month. Vanessa’s next renewal date will now be January 14th.

Who is Affected?

New monthly accounts, accounts increasing their size, and accounts that are reactivating after going inactive.  In each scenario, the account will now have their billing cycle set to the current day of the month.

Why the Change?

Simplicity.  With this change, most of our users will never see a prorated charge, which is easier and less confusing.  We like easy and hate confusing!  The new method is consistent with many other monthly services.

Be Fair.  For many reasons, charges on credit cards are occasionally rejected. When this happens, the account is made inactive until a successful charge can be run.  If a user did not fix this issue until a few days into the month, they would still be charged for the full amount, even though their account was inactive for those few days. This didn’t really sit well with us because we felt as if we were charging our monthly customers for a service they weren’t able to use.  We will now just change their billing cycle to the day at which they correct their billing issue.  Simple, right?

Close a Loophole.  A very small portion of our monthly users discovered that because we prorated upgrades through the end of the month, they could greatly increase the size of their groups for very little cost at the end of the month.  We like win-win relationships, and this doesn’t fit that mold.

We hope you see the increased simplicity of our new monthly model.  It’s a boring topic, but we feel it should be communicated.  If you have any questions or concerns contact account support or post your comments below.

Call-Em-All Gets a Makeover

Recently our President Brad gave one of our engineers, Seth, and me (Elise) a challenge: make over our About Us page. There was one catch to it; we had a 24-hour period to devote all of our efforts to designing and creating these new pages.

It’s been a while since it’s been updated, and our company has grown significantly within recent years. We not only wanted to depict our commitment to giving you the best automated messaging and service on the Internet, but we also wanted to show Call-Em-All’s innovative, professional, and fun company culture.

We decided to create two pages: an updated “About Us“ page along with a new “Meet the Team“ page.

If you’ve visited our Facebook page or our Twitter feed, you’ve probably had the chance to see a little more about the Call-Em-All family…and maybe a few of our office pranks!

After a late night of coding and gathering content, we presented the new pages to the company then published them on the website. Here are the new pages:

about us 300x279 Call Em All Gets a Makeover

meet the team 300x282 Call Em All Gets a Makeover

We’ll be adding more interactive features to our About Us and Meet the Team pages- check back soon for updates.

We want to get to know you, too! Comment here and tell us a little bit about yourself!

This year we decided to break our Christmas party into two separate events so we could host the most people. If you go to our Facebook Page, you will see our office decorated with friends and family celebrating together.

We first gathered our families for a dinner celebration. Between drinks, entrees, and friends, it was a grand ol’ time. The night consisted of talking about the past year, plans for the holidays, and watching the little ones play. We had the opportunity to meet our co-workers spouses and finally put faces to names. Go check out our Facebook page so you can put a face to our names as well!

A few days later we had a tacky Christmas sweater party and wrapped presents for a local nursing home. Donating time and gifts has been a holiday tradition at Call-Em-All for the past four years. Pat, our Customer Service Manager, diligently worked on this project for more than a month. She went shopping and got every resident a specific item on his/her Christmas list and put all their gifts into boxes. Between laughing and wrapping presents, and not to forget the desserts and food, everyone had a good time. We will deliver the presents next week and we can’t wait to see the looks on their faces!

This past year, we hired three new employees and rolled out many new projects. On a customer service perspective, we’ve added the chat feature and have more people to answer the phones and emails so we can get back to you quickly. We also changed our pricing for texting to half a credit, and created the Website Widget so your members can receive an invitation to opt-in to your keyword online. Not only that, but we created an Audio Library and created the ability to Edit Broadcasts after you’ve started them.

You might notice that we do get the in spirit around here as well. From Santa hats on chairs, to lights around cubes, or even a Christmas tree made of lights, we enjoy decorating and being festive during this holiday season.

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas.

Our Focus on Constant Improvement

Yesterday, our service was down for a portion of the day.  As customers, you know that this is an extremely unusual occurrence.  I’d like to use this opportunity to talk about the cause of the problem and the improvements we’re making as a result.

The outage was related to a power failure at the data center where our equipment is hosted.  Although the data center has several backup power options available, yesterdays’ specific problem prevented all of them from being utilized.  With that said, it is our responsibility to provide you with the best service possible and this incident has helped us identify some improvements we can make right now and moving forward.  In fact, our team is currently working with our data center to provide even more power redundancy to our infrastructure.

We know that you are counting on Call-Em-All to be there when you need us.  If we let you down yesterday, please accept my apologies and know that I take this very personally.  We appreciate your business, and we look forward to a long partnership with each of you in the future.

If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us anytime at 877.226.3080.
